Wednesday's Woe - Stop Stressing over my Post-Traumatic Stress!

Wednesday's Woe

Stop Stressing over my Post-Traumatic Stress!

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is just WHAT IS after severe trauma.

The "experts" need to STOP calling PTSD a "disorder" when child-loss parents become overwhelmed from the horrendous loss of their precious child.

PTSD just IS what happens when anyone has been severely, overwhelmingly traumatized.

The abnormal trauma of DEATH OF A CHILD coming at us child-loss parents IS the disorder--NOT how our poor minds, bodies, spirits, hearts, etc. are reeling from the horrific trauma that killed our children.

The experts need to consider

We WOULD BE "DISORDERED" IF WE WEREN'T REELING FROM THE TRAUMA OVER LOSING OUR CHILD~

PTSD just describes what many of us grieving parents are going through should any objective observer be watching. So the labeling of the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can be very helpful, put please dear "experts," do not call it a FAILURE of our grief, NOR of our CHARACTERS BEING FLAWED; we are simply overwhelmed by the death of our precious child!

This unfair, actually cruel, false-labeling of a grieving parent reminds me of what was being perpetrated by the so-called experts of the '70's when they BLAMED SCHIZOPHRENIA on the victim's MOTHER—labeling this poor woman, whoever she might be, as being a "SCHIZOPHRENOGENIC" mother (Yes, they gave a title to the poor mother), blaming HER for the schizophrenia of her child, saying it must have been caused by the WAY SHE RAISED HER CHILD! Since schizophrenia doesn't typically hit till late teens or early 20's, these crazy "experts" could "appear" to know what they were talking about due to the disease's timing for exhibiting its symptoms. Now, scientists have clear-cut neurophysiological evidence that schizophrenia is a bonafide physiological brain disorder from the hard evidence of the schizophrenic person's brain scans, thus NO LONGER BLAMING THE MOTHER'S MOTHERING SKILLS...

Hopefully, with current availability of P.E.T. scans, experts of today will see the clear neurophysiological evidence of the brain trauma in victims of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and

STOP BLAMING US VICTIMS FOR "CHARACTER FLAWS" OR FOR "FAILURE TO GRIEVE PROPERLY"!

We carry around inside of us an indescribable wailing all the time...and yes, it may very well leave physiological scarring on our brains. I wouldn't be surprised.

Do you have any scans for hearts, souls, and spirits? I dare say our unbearable pain is leaving scars there too.

Most of us are amazed that we're still alive at all. Period.
